A third Hongkonger tricked into working at scam farms in Myanmar returned home on Tuesday evening, as security officials pledged to continue their efforts in rescuing another nine residents trapped in similar situations.

Assistant Secretary for Security Paddy Yuen Pak-kei said the 31-year-old woman arrived in the city on a flight from Bangkok with members of a designated task force from the Security Bureau.

The woman’s return leaves the bureau with nine outstanding requests for help from Hongkongers trafficked to scam farms in Southeast Asia. Eight of the victims are stuck in Myanmar and one in Cambodia, where they were lured after travelling to Thailand.
